Gubernatorial candidates Brown and Dickinson debate, Raimondo a no-show
Over a dozen people showed up outside Channel 12/WPRI studios in East Providence to call upon incumbent Democratic Governor Gina Raimondo to actually engage in the election process and debate her challengers, Matt Brown and Spencer Dickinson. As television news reporters Tim White and Ted Nesi posed questions to Brown and Dickinson inside, people outside held signs that said "Gina Why Do You Hate Democracy,""No Debate = Disrespect of Voters" and "No LNGina." Most of those attending the protest were supporters of Matt Brown. One told me he was there only to demand that Raimondo engage in the Democratic process and debate her opponents. He said he was frustrated that the Governor cares more about strategy than Democracy. Below is video from outside the studio, and shows the arrival of Matt Brown. Then there is the debate itself, followed by pictures. https://youtu.be/NOWHpw6YDBw
